The last block of Croatian animation focuses on student productions over the past ten years. The selection of mostly graduation works, whose authors are graduates of the Department for Animated Film and New Media in Zagreb, has been made by this year's PAF Cult, Ivan Ladislav Galeta.

He has chosen from his students' films, those which are characterized particularly by original forms and animation techniques that are, in most cases, superior to the content. In those pictures we can trace even some characteristic attributes of Croatian animation – the absence of the spoken word, simple visual associations, the organic clasp of image and sound (Lesson No 1) or concrete animation techniques, conveying the recording of creative acts (Trauma), daily processes (Daily Progress) or documents about acrophobia, using the pixilation technique (17 Stories). Some are close to Galeta's mathematical mysticism or geometric abstraction (Instruments). The creators are fascinated by the human body's structure (TuRn), the overlapping of image layers (Life Line) and so they use combinations of a variety of methods, such as drawing and watercolour (...about Poppy) as well as animation of plasticine (Golem). Only a small amount of the films are narrative, yet still they handle the story and the point in an original way (Women on Board). The only representative of 3D animation is Educational Story, which, using a vulgar way of expression in the two main animal characters and brisk advice at the end, presents a contrast to American family films, such as Madagascar.

Galeta's selection thus promises a diversity of presented films from young Croatian artists and also an interesting confrontation with Czech students' work.
