On Saturday at 5 p.m., the visitors of the Film Auditorium had the opportunity to watch a series of videos of this year's PAF Cult, the Croatian renaissance artist and pedagogue, Ivan Ladislav Galeta.

Galeta personally presented a cross-section of his videoart, the audience could see the first Galeta's works from 1970s as well as his contemporary authorial production.

"Raise you finger and look at it intently," prompted Galeta the audience in the auditorium right at the beginning of the lecture. "Now try to look at me. You can see me twice and I you, too." Then he screened to the slightly distorted viewers his video called Tv ping pong, in which you could see the double image as well. This time it was not an optical illusion, but an elaborate and playful experiment with a video recording of a ping pong match.

"All you can see in the recording is reality; it is sometimes very bizarre, though," said Galeta shortly before his own face appeared on the screen.

The series of films was completed by a set of videos in which Galeta captured his own work in a garden with the help of tiny formal specialities (deformation of sound track, quickening or slowing of image). He used them to create abstract images as well as sometimes micro-narrative dramas.

"I have planted myself all that you can see," boasted the artist in the end and remarked that he would love to return to Olomouc one day.
