The closing ceremony of PAF 2009 took place on Sunday evening in the Theatre (Art Centre, Palacký University, Konvikt) during which event the winners of this year's OTHER VISIONS competition were announced.
The festival organizers themselves hosted the ceremonial, sometimes the event resembled rather an artistic performance, perhaps even a show of a well-coordinated comic duo (programme manager Mazanec, director Jančík).
Relaxed atmosphere was supported by occasional entries of this year's PAF Cult Ivan Ladislav Galeta, who returned on the stage in front of the audience several times even after the moment, when he was honoured with traditional Olomouc cheese.
Members of the jury Ivan Ladislav Galeta and Mia Makela announced the winner of this year's OTHER VISIONS, Daniel Pitín and his The Lost Architect. The jury chose this particular work because of its intermedia potential, simplicity and originality.
The Audience Award was given to Matěj Smetana (Manual 2: Trilobite) from the hands of the artist Michal Pěchouček, who provided the evening with one of the best moments with his enthusiastic speech and laugh. Even Matěj Smetana himself was smiling after when he pulled out of the winning bag the materialized audiovision, sunglasses with a built-in mp3 player.
The whole evening was completed with an extraordinary performance of Pure B and TOY_BOX called Two Dead Police, One For Hope And One For Peace, a playful show created specifically for PAF, which mixes punk directness, comics methods and live animation.
