PAF returned from Svátek bláznů and Fest Anča, Žilina and continues in summer tour through Czech and Slovak festivals. On Sunday, 24th of July, PAF appears at the 37th year of Summer Film School, Uherské Hradiště. Few-day PAF programme in Uherské Hradiště becomes a festival of contemporary Czech as well as Slovak arts of moving picture art as well as portfolio of current trends and tendencies within manipulation with moving picture in galleries and cinemas.
Four programme blocks were arranged by editors of multimedia database mediabáze.cz together with the festival of animation and audio-visual arts PAF as well as with several invited artists such as Dominik Gajarský, Roman Štětina, Jan Šrámek and Vojtěch Vaněk. Together with PAF dramaturgist Martin Mazanec and the director of Olomouc festival Alexandr Jančík, they at the same time become guides of individual PAF programme sections at the Summer Film School. At the Summer Film School PAF is on show from Sunday, 24th of July to Thursday, 29th of July 2011.
Objects of Video, Sunday, 24th of July, 2011
Objects of Video serve as interpretative key to differentiate various forms of manipulation with moving pictures. Object means a topic or the basic material for production of videos included in the selection. The subject is an existing film as well as a statue, slide-show or individual photography. Presented by Martin Mazanec.
Different Animation, Monday, 25th of July, 2011
The first part is devoted to the work of two graduates of Atelier of Intermedia, FAVU, Brno – Jan Šrámek and Vojtěch Vaněk. Their common animation is characteristic of interference into other media. The other part entitled Hommage is focused on the generation of authors-animators between 2001 and 2007. Presented by Jan Šrámek and Vojtěch Vaněk.
Re-edit, Tuesday, 26th of July, 2011
These videos are inspired by experimental and feature film in historical references and quotations. It is not about a classic found-footage, but rather about targeted recycling of film cultural prints. These references serve as construction of new meanings that in extreme situations lack fictional starting points and are gradually heading for image abstraction. Presented by Roman Štětina.
Video, Sound, Clips, Wednesday, 27th of July, 2011
Its starting point is a classical form of video clip as well as an individual work on audio component appearing in video production. The generational problematic area of Czech video clip contrasts with unambitious illustration of sound and bustle. Presented by Alexandr Jančík and Jan Šrámek.
