The second section of this year's PAF: Light and darkness are the essential elements of moving pictures creation. Fascination with pre-cinematographic principles of animation is reflected in image projection, light animation of interwar avant-garde and also utopian projects of the present day. The section is devoted to non-traditional animation techniques and focuses on light editing, animation of luminous objects and construction of screening premises.
Considerable share of darkness and spectators' imagination during projections, live performances and presentations will be emphasized. Tim Hecker (concert), Jan Kulka (performance), Richard Loskot (installation/ presentation), Kangding Ray (concert/presentation), Anthony McCall (installation), Józef Robakowski (installation), Pavel Sterec (performance/ presentation) etc.
